My spayed cat has false heats, and I found a kitten. What should I do?

I live in Indiana, June 26 2017 I adopted a 3.5 year old cat from Marion County animal control (Indianapolis Indiana) since Jan 2018 she has experienced 3 false heats (paperwork states spayed) she's a inside/outside cat. Early this week showing signs of heat. Last night left briefly to store and came home to a faint meow in garage(she doesn't go in garage but left open while gone, 20min?) Found at least a week old kitten with dried umb. Cord. Hungry I had whole organic milk and fed it.

I would think that this might not be Maxine's kitten if she didn't have access to the garage, and for a week old kitten to still be doing okay its mother must have been around often. If Maxine has been nursing a kitten she should have mammary gland development with milk present. I would recommend purchasing a kitten formula like KMR to feed the kitten since milk is not a balanced diet for a kitten. It would also be a good idea to see your veterinarian to make sure this kitten is in good health and to discuss how to raise an orphan kitten if that is your plan. If you want to make sure Maxine has been spayed you could ask your vet about running an anti-Mullerian hormone level blood test: if it is positive there is still some ovarian tissue somewhere. This could explain the false heats.
