My dog's tear stains caused sore skin with pus. How can I help?

Pet's info: Dog | Toy Poodle | Female | unspayed | 12 years and 9 months old | 11.05 lbs

As you can see from the photo. My dog has very bad tear stains. After pulling the thick piece of stains, under it her skin is sore and has green pus on it. What can i do to help her feel less pain and heal it and soothe it.

Have Chacha examined by your veterinarian. She may need antibiotics for infection. Her eyes should be examined for obstructed tear ducts or for distichia (tiny hairs growing on her eyelids that rub the cornea causing excess tears). Have the hair on her face trimmed short and wipe daily. Keep it as dry as possible to prevent bacteria and yeast from flourishing.
