Is my puppy's bleeding gum wound part of teething or something else?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Female | 5 months and 6 days old | 390 lbs

We saw that she was bleeding from her mouth today and we thought that she was teething, but when I checked where it came from I discovered that she has a small "wound" on her gums (See picture below). Is this a part of the teething Process or something else?

This does look a little gingival ulcer and it could be associated with teething. However I would observe this until Monday. If it is from teething it should heal by itself until then. If it increased in size, looks angry, starts to smell bad or is bothering her or did not heal by Monday, have it examined by your veterinarian as there could be some other cause involved that needs treatment.
