My dog is panting and drinking a lot, but it's not hot. Why?

I have a Chorkie dog who is 10 yrs. old. Just recently he has started panting and drinking a lot more water. He is not in an hot environment. Is this symptoms of something wrong? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 7 lbs

Hello, yes these sings if persistent could be indicative of certain deseases such as cushings or diabetes. Other causes of these signs may include something more benign such as a UTI. If he continues to have these signs or if you note increased urinations, lethargy and loss of appetite than he should be evaluated by his veterinarian.
