Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, this supplement should be relatively safe. There are no known negative side effects or contraindications for use of this joint supplement in cats or cats with kidney disease. I hope this helps!

Hello. Yes, you should be able to add this, but since you already have Gabby on the k/d, you might want to switch her to Hills Prescription k/d + motility. It is made for cats exactly like yours, with renal disease & arthritis. For even more arthritis help, you may want to talk to your veterinarian about adding Adequan injections. This is administered twice a week for 4 weeks, then weekly for 4 weeks, then monthly or as needed to keep your cat comfortable. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
