Is it safe to alter my cat's heart failure medication for travel?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed | 10 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs

Hi, my cat has heart failure,she is on frusemide 1/4 of a 40mg tablet 3 times a day.My problem is I am going on holiday and it is difficult to get family round to give her the tablets 3 times a day 07.30/15.30/23.30 is there anyway for the 2 weeks I can alter/double a dose so they only need come twice a day? Am scared to go on holiday its to USA and was booked 8months before she fell ill.

I am so sorry to hear about Olive. I would recommend discussing this concern with Olive's vet as she knows her history, has examined her and knows the severity of her heart disease. They may feel comfortable altering her medications or may recommend something like an additional pet sitter or having her board at the vet hospital where here medications can be given at specific times.
