My dog has a growth near her dewclaw. Is it hyperkeratosis or keratin?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 7 years and 6 months old | 45 lbs

Hello. My dog has hyperkeratosis on her pads. Today I noticed a small growth right next to her hind dewclaw pad. It looks and feels exactly like a mini pad. I checked the other hind leg and she has another in the exact same position, but smaller and not as dark. They are causing her no problems and she doesn't lick/chew/bother them. Are these just hyperkeratosis "corns" or should I be concerned? She had something like this before on her metacarpal pad, it was tested and was just keratin. Thanks.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Olivia. I suspect that the bumps are extra keratin on both hindlimbs given the description and picture you have provided. If they do not bother her (ie. She is not licking them or limping), then I would monitor them. Ask about it at her next regular veterinary appointment. If they grow rapidly or are bothering her, then she will need to be evaluated sooner. I hope this information helps!
