How to treat my dog's dry, bald elbow bumps and prevent calluses?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 70 lbs

My dog has these dry bumps on both of his elbows and we his bald where the bumps are. They aren’t irritated and he’s not licking at them, I was just wondering if there is anything i could do?

It is not uncommon for larger breeds to develop elbow callouses. Monitor for any licking or chewing of the spots. An e-collar (cone) can be used if necessary to stop licking. Provide a padded bed or beds for him to lay down. Consider adding an essential fatty acid supplement, such as DermCaps or EicosaCaps, to his diet. These may promote healthy skin and coat.
