Is it safe to feed large breed puppy food to my regular puppy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 10 months and 19 days old

Gizmo is fed iams puppy food and it says puppy < 1. My mom bought him some food but didn’t notice the difference. The one she brought says large breed puppy < 2. So my question is can i still feed gizmo the large breed puppy < 2 food even though he’s not 1 yet or should i take it back ans get the puppy < 1? I just don’t want to feed him something that’s not appropriate for his current age and it bothers him or affects him negativly.

It's fine to feed Gizmo the large breed puppy food since it's designed for puppies (which should be fed up until one year of age). The large breed part just refers to the size of the dog. I hope this helps!
