Why do my kittens play so rough and one screams? Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 months and 22 days old

I rescued my female kitten Mella from a school a few months ago, now she's about 4 or 5 months old, and a week ago i got a new male kitten he's now 2 months old... The first couple of days were harsh introducing them together, involved hissing all the time.. I had to seperate them most of the time, Now they're good, but the playing is a bit harsh specially from mella, casper screams loudly when they play, but there's no blood or injuries.. should i be worried??

No need to be worried, do not interfere. Kittens play rough, They need to play rough to learn to hunt, to get good coordination. They will not deliberately hurt each other. Is Casper completely white? If he keeps his blue eyes he may be deaf, which could be a reason why he screams so loud. Just looking at thee photos there is no problem...they will love each other. You do not have to worry about them playing rough.
