Tiny kitten is weak and bony. Could she have worms? Can't afford vet.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 29 days old

Feral cat has had kittens in my courtyard. 3 kittens 1 very tiny female, small boy, HUGE boy. The biggest boy seems in every way two weeks older than he is. Cat allows us to handle kittens, kittens trust us and come right up. Didn't see girl yesterday, as I was out most of day. But today found her weak and feeling "light" "bony". Brought brothers inside because they seem to dominate mom attention. It helped. Could she have worms? Can't afford vet.

If this kitten is small, it may be that she is the runt and therefore is losing out on competition for nipples to feed on. She could have worms, those are common in kittens, but the only way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Carefree Credit online. http://www.carefreecredit.co.uk https://www.rspca.org.uk/whatwedo/vetcare http://www.easipetcare.com Best of luck.
