My puppy is shaking, drooling, and weak. What should I do now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 17 days old

My pup is about a months and a few weeks, she was scared by another dog who is 2 years old, she became so scared that she started shaking and couldn't really walk, she started shaking and drooling a lot, we then wrapped her up in a blanket and tried to keep her warm but she is still shaking, and she whines every now and then but it's so faint, she also can't keep her eyes open, she struggles and her ears and paws are a little cold, what should I do, besides going to the vet? what does it mean?

My biggest concern in a very young puppy with the signs you described is that she has a low blood sugar. This can worsen to the point of seizures and can be fatal if not treated. I am attaching a handout with more information below. https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952329 I would recommend trying to feed Naya a small meal. If she will not eat, then I would recommend rubbing Karo syrup or maple syrup on her gums and taking her to a veterinarian immediately. If she eats and starts to feel better, then you are likely dealing with a low blood sugar level and will need to continue regular small meals. Good luck! I hope that was helpful and that Nala feels better soon. Thanks for using PetCoach.
