New kitten's first vet visit: What's the cost & financial help?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

I just got a kitten out of the blue, we are not sure how old she is and know she has not been to the vet at all. How much should I expect to pay and what are there any good organizations that could help with expenses

A veterinarian will likely be able to tell you how old she is. I am attaching prices for VetCo locations for vaccinations, so you have some ideas about pricing. https://www.vetcoclinics.com/services-and-clinics/vaccination-packages-and-prices/ And here is a link to the locations and schedules. https://www.vetcoclinics.com/services-and-clinics/clinic-locations-and-schedules/ Unfortunately, there are not very many organizations that will help with routine wellness care, so you may consider applying for CareCredit ( https://www.carecredit.com/ ) which often gives you a period of time without any payment or interest. I would also check with your local animal shelter or animal control. They will likely offer reduced prices for vaccination services and may also be able to help you get her spayed for a discounted price. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
