My beagle has had dirt spots for months. Why are they now red?

David Elbeze, you just answered my question about my beagles skin. Are the dirt spots related at all? I think it's odd that they have been there for months, and only just got red. Thank you for your help. Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed | 2 years and 7 months old | 26.6 lbs

If the "dirt" spots are exactly at the same location as the red spot then they might be related, if they are beside them then it might not be related. the "dirt" areas look like they also could be allergy related, possibly something else as well such as a chronic skin infection, i think it would be best if your vet takes a sample of these spots and have them checked for bacerias and funguses just in case.
