My cat has stomatitis. Can I catch it? Is it contagious to humans?

Can humans catch stomatitis from a cat?

No they cannot. Feline stomatitis is often an autoimmune disease of the eosinophilic complex, not contagious, Stomatitis can also be caused by bacteria, usually different from bacteria that can affect humans, and it can be non-bacterial caused by e.g. kidney disease. Stomatitis can also be caused by overreaction to dental plaque around a cat's teeth, triggering inflammation in the tissues of the mouth. There is also viral stomatitis, and the viruses that cause this are species specific and will not infect humans.
