My bird is sick: lethargic, swollen yellow belly. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | unneutered

Pepper hasn't moved a lot, pepper also has drooping stain on his bottom so I knew he was sick so I checked it and the bottom of his stomach was a little inflated and was a dark yellow. What do you think is wrong with him and what should I do?

Pepper should be physically examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating birds. Possibilities include parasites, liver disease or infection. Supportive care may be indicated until he recovers.Keep him warm and as stress free as possible until he sees the vet. If possible, have him examined today.
