Why does my unspayed female kitten have lumps under her nipples?

My female kitten born March 27 has oval quarter sized lumps under three of her nipples. Not yet spayed. No change in behavior, still active. Doesn’t seem in pain when you touch them. Any idea what this could be?

My guess is that it is just hormone related hyperplasia. The other option is mastitis - it may be just starting. I would just keep an eye on it since she is acting otherwise normal. If after a couple weeks they lumps are still present you should have her examined by your vet. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
