Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Male | unneutered | 0 lbs

When I took my hamster out of his cage, holding him close to my heart I gave him a small piece of celery he took a couple bites and them he just stopped chewing and started staring at me for like a minute before he resumed eating. Is he just content and feeling safe?

That is how I would interpret that action. Any prey animal that is sitting still and eating from your hand is likely pretty comfortable with the situation to be doing such a thing. Hope this makes sense.
