No, mast calls are the great pretenders of the tumor world. They can take on different appearances. This is why it is important to have suspicious masses examined and aspirated or biopsied by your veterinarian. There are breed predispositions and even though Shih Tzus are not on that list, MCTs can occur in any breed, age or gender of dog.
