What are good alternative ways to give a mouse oral medicine?

I took my mouse to the vet and he was diagnosed with a lung infection. The vet gave me baytril to treat him orally, but I haven’t been able to figure out a good way to feed him the medicine with the syringe they gave me. I don’t want to restrain him by the scruff because that scares me and he also bit the vet when he restrained him that way and he looked terrified. Ask your veterinarian if the medication can be compounded or flavored. This could make administration easier. When done properly, scruffing the neck is an acceptable, safe and painless way to restrain a small pet such as a mouse.
