Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. In order to get a toxic amount of onions, a normal sized Jack Russel Terrier would have to have eaten about a whole onion. If it was just a few pieces I wouldn't be too concerned, however if it was a large amount I would have her seen by a vet for a blood test to see if her red cells are affected. Otherwise, I would watch her for vomiting and diarrhea, as mold from old food contains toxins that can cause severe gastritis, as well as tremors and seizures. If you are unsure of how much she had, I would have her seen by a vet for a blood test. If you look at her gums and they look brown instead of pink, or she has any trouble breathing or is weak and lethargic, then this is very very serious and you have to get her to a vet right away. Best of luck with your little girl.
