My 2-month-old kitten has just started waking me up with extremely wet sucking and licking of my eyes. I have been used to him licking my face. But this morning he started licking my eyes and wouldn't stop. He was doing it so much that he started sucking on it and making them very wet. What can I do to discourage this behavior and what could cause this behavior?

Kitties show affection in many ways and this is one of them. He is still very young so he is likely mimicking suckling on his mothers teats wheh he was a newborn. I would recommend removing him from your room when he starts this behavior and then giving him a catnip toy to play with instead. You can also purchase toys that stimulate his hunting behavior and can keep him occupied. He also may be trying to wake you because he is hungry. Get an automatic feeder for him, that way you can set the timer to feed him 15-20 minutes before his typical behavior happens in the morning. This may just do the trick! Here is a website link with many fun toys for kittens and also many videos on how to tackle certain unwanted kitty behaviors. jacksongalaxy.com Best of luck with your kitten and I hope you find a good solution soon! Take care.
