Should I change my 8-week Shih Tzu puppy's feeding routine safely?

My new puppy is an 8 week old shih tzu and the breeder that Im getting her from fed her 1 cup of kibble twice a day. But I read that She should be fed about 1/2 a cup of food 3 times a day. Should I continue what her breeder did or change it. And if I change the routine will it upset her stomach in any way? Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | 2 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! While changing the routine is not likely going to upset her belly, it is really not necessary. Feeding a puppy twice daily is perfectly appropriate as long as the total amount of food per day is right. Good luck and have a great day!
