Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Duro-Tuss Linctus is a product that stops coughing in dogs. It is helpful in conditions such as kennel cough when severe coughing is affecting ability to eat/drink, and in cases of collapsing trachea (very uncommon in large breed dogs). Coughing for other reasons including heart disease, pneumonia, or infections in the lungs, can be made much worse by using this medication as it prevents the stuff from being coughed out that needs to come out. I would recommend consulting with a vet about Duke's condition before using this product. Best of luck with Duke.
