Is it dangerous if my budgie chewed fabric but shows no symptoms?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female | 6 months and 29 days old

Hi there! My budgie, Pluto, was flying around the house a few hours ago, and I just noticed the fabric on a photo frame has been chewed on. I'm certain it was Pluto, since he loves to chew on things. However, he is not displaying any bad symptoms. What do you think? (He's the green bird on the right.)

He will likely be fine. Most birds will simply chew paper or fabric without actually ingesting it. You can monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite or loose droppings. See your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating birds if necessary.
