Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 8 years and 1 month old | 15 lbs
I took my cat to the vet for some blood around his penis, but they did not find blood when they extracted his urine via syringe at the vet. His PH was a little high and I think protein but the vet said she didn't see any major signs of a UTI. He never acted sick, was urinating normally the whole time. It's been about a month and he is still having some slight brown discharge after antibiotics. The picture i attached was shortly after we first went to the vet. What could it be?

The discharge does appear more brown than red. It also looks like there is a little hair at the top of the paper towel. If the discharge is coming from the skin around the prepuce, it is possible that Hugo has a bacterial or more commonly yeast overgrowth on his skin that is causing the discharge. Your vet can look at a sample under the microscope to determine if that is the case. It is common that cats can develop skin infections in areas that hold moisture. You vet will be able to prescribe a medicated wipe to keep the area clean that may contain an antibiotic or an anti-fungal medication depending on what they find under the microscope. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
