Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 95 lbs
I had to move back home a year ago with my 5 y/o pitbull, mango. My dad's lab, max is appx 4 y/o. Ever since the move, max literally follows me all over constantly, and pants non stop. It just recently occurred to me that it seems to be anxiety related. I KNOW he's jealous of mango but don't know how to stop this increasingly annoying behavior. I feel bad bc I always yell at him and I'm sure it isn't helping. Please help, any attention I do give max, just makes him more excited and on top of me!

I recommend two things to help this behavior. First, for anxiety I like Composure chews and Adaptil diffusers. If these don't help, there are prescription medications that you can discuss with your veterinarian. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/dog/dog-health-and-wellness/dog-calming-aids/comfort-zone-diffuser-with-dap-for-dogs The second thing is to teach Max a new skill, and that is mat training. If you don't want him following you everywhere, he needs to know what you DO want him to do instead. There are tons of YouTube videos on how to accomplish this, and the most important thing is to be consistent, and use positive reinforcement. I hope this helps. Thanks for using PetCoach.
