Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Female | spayed | 3 years and 3 months old | 23 lbs

Recently changed dog food from one brand to another and also from lamb and rice to catfish. now have belly rash on both dogs, wondering if I should change back to original brand? Or stay with new brand but original proteins of lamb? have never had belly rashes with Rosie, so not thinking pollen allergy, your thoughts? Thank you

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your questions. If Rosie and your other dog have never had skin irritation prior to the change in diet, it certainly could be related to the diet switch. If the irritation does not clear up on its own after 2-3 days, I would recommend switching back to the original diet when there were no symptoms evident. If the rash continues or worsens, then I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Rosie and your other dog so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
