My 15yo Yorkshire Terrier is receiving palliative care for a squamous cell carcinoma. At this stage can I give her her Loxicom on an empty stomach?

I'm so sorry to hear about Lusso. If she has a sensitive stomach, then I would try to give the Loxicam with a little food. Even a small amount of a treat or a bit of bread might be enough. If she generally does not have a problem with a sensitive stomach and Loxicam has never bothered her before, then you might be able to get away with giving it on an empty stomach, but I always recommend trying to get something into them around the same time as the medication to prevent other problems. If there is a particular time of day that she tends to eat better than others, you may also consider changing the time of day that you give the Loxicam, so it can be with some food. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
