Is it normal for my Robo Dwarf Hamster's black fur line to darken?

My Robo Dwarf Hamster has mostly white fur except for down his back, where he has a line of black fur. When I first got him, the black fur wasn’t too noticeable but you could tell it was there. Recently, the black fur has become much more noticeable. Is this normal? Also, I’m not sure how old he is (if this has to do with age). Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Male

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Gus sounds very handsome! I think this is probably normal. Coat changes happen frequently in many different types of animals. Sometimes it is seasonal, sometimes it is a normal from ageing. As long as the skin and hair looks healthy I would not be worried. Personally, I think it is likely age related. Hope this helps.
