Can I give my dog loratadine for her skin allergies and itching?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Female | spayed | 3 years and 10 months old | 19 lbs

Can I give my mini schnauzer the Walmart brand of allergy relief pill with loratadine 10mg to treat her skin allergies?

Hello there! You sure can give her that for skin allergies and itch relief! For her size and that dose, I would recommend giving her one half tablet once per day. I hope this is helpful! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

    loratadine has absolutely zero effect on dogs, it won't help whatsoever with this problem. Benadryl can help in some cases although it is not very effective in dogs either for this type of allergies, you can give him two tablets up to 2 times a day.
