How to stop my dog from scratching a bleeding lump near her eye?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 9 years and 9 months old | 120 lbs

My dog has a lump under her right eye, that has started bleeding. We got the bleeding to clot, but there is still a lump there. What can I do to keep her from touching this area and not cause it to bleed again?

Poor Daisy! I would recommend getting an e-collar (plastic cone) for her to wear for the next few days. This will keep her from being able to scratch or paw at her eye, and will also help protect it from her accidentally running into something and making it bleed again.
