My dog has diarrhea for days, can I give him water for dehydration?

My pup has been having diarrhea for three days without improvement. Can i give water to drink?

Hello, sorry to hear about Chuvai. Yes, he can have plenty of water to drink as he is likely dehydrated from all of the diarrhea. I think however, that Chuvai should be seen by his veterinarian as I am concerned he could have some form or parasite or virus that will need medications to control his diarrhea. Have him evaluated soon, especially if the diarrhea persists. Hope this helps and best of luck.

    Thank you for submitting your question regarding Chuvai. Unless a dog been profusely vomiting, I do not restrict access to water. In this case, I will only hold water if I have given an adequate amount of fluids beforehand. If he is not vomiting, I would give him water. He is suffering such terrible diarrhea that I assume he is dehydrated. The water will only help him. You will need to seek additional care for him though as he does not seem to be improving. I hope this information helps.
