Is CBD oil safe for senior dogs with hip pain and liver concerns?

Hi, I have a dog named Odie he is 13 and has hip pain whenever he walks and walks very stuff and sometimes can not get up, would cbd oil be beneficial for him because I know pain medication is very damaging for there liver and he is already maxed out on the pain medication. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 13 years and 2 months old | 89 lbs

Hello, sorry to hear about Odie. There are other pain medications out there that will not damage the liver and these can be tried on Odie if you feel like he is still very uncomfortable. CBD oil has many believed benefits, but none that have been proven and there is no published data currently on the benefits of CBD oil in dogs. However, this does not mean you cannot try it and see if Odie is more comfortable on this. Before trying it however, you should consult with your veterinarian to make sure that Odie can have this medication. Hope this helps and best of luck.
