My maltipoo puppy got a vitamin shot today from the pet store that we bought him from , he's about to be 4 months old and right after that shot today when we got home he started throwing up all of the food from the morning , he looks very weak and sick and sad.. we started giving him suero since he wasn't drinking any water .. is this just a side effect from the vitamin that they gave him? Do you think he'll be okay ? Or should i take him to the vet as soon as possible?

Hi there! Sorry to hear that Koko is not feeling well. The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The vitamin injection is unlikely to be the cause of this though it is not possible to know without knowing the kind of vitamin he received. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Koko evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. At the very least they can address dehydration if present and start him on anti-nausea medications. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for your boy!
