Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | spayed | 7 years and 3 months old | 190 lbs
My German Shepherd is 7 years old. She’s been on and off proin for a free years, but she’s been consistently on it for the past few months. I’ve noticed her increase in water consumption lately. She’s drinking ALOT of water and we always try and stay caught up with her so she has fluids. Is this a side effect of the meds? Or should she be seen?

That is not a common side effect of the medication. I do recommend a veterinary exam and lab tests to determine if she has a urinary infection, kidney problem or even diabetes or other metabolic problem that can change the amount of drinking and urination. Once they get a reason then they can start treatment that could consist of a diet change and/or other medications.
