My cat was attacked by a dog. Why is she now sick with hair loss?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My cat got grabbed and slung by a dog A few weeks ago. We checked her and she had no wounds or anything so we assumed she was fine. Well in these past few weeks she has lost a lot of hair bald patches all over her and scabs. She has been puking in the floor a lot also. I thought maybe it just stressed her out. Now the last 3 night she has wanted to sleep right on me on my pillow and won’t leave. She has never done that before. I’m started to wonder if something is wrong. What is your thoughts?

Your cat may have suffered internal damage from the slinging, some organs could have been damaged and thus she may be showing signs of illness due to that. The dog could also have had sarcoptes mites and given them to her which does cause hair loss and scabs and can eventually kill herr. You will need to take her to a vet ASAP for an exam before she gets so sick that she cannot be treated effectively any more. Please make an appointment today, she sounds very ill.
