Is heavy panting and fast breathing normal for my dog after playing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 1 day old | 6.6 lbs

Hi, Noushi loves to run & chase her toys. Is it normal that she pants after running & her breathing speeds up? . Her stomach moves so fast. The vet says she's fine but I wanna know what the experts here think.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Noushi. If she only breathes hard like this after hard play, this is not a cause of concern. An increased respiratory rate or panting (open mouth breathing) is worrisome if it occurs while she is resting with no recent history of exercise. I hope this information helps!
