My cat keeps licking bald spots after fleas. How do I stop her?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 5 years and 6 months old

We had an issue with fleas a while back, she would constantly clean her stomach. We got Seresto collars and this sorted out the fleas, However she has continued to constantly clean and it seems to be an obsessive behavior. The hair is not growing back so we want to know how to get her to stop cleaning the area constantly in order for the hair to grow back as the hair loss is spreading

This can be an obsessive behavior in some cats. Some cats require behavioral medication for this and it looks like Jezebel may be one of them. I would discuss this with your veterinarian. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
