My Pregnant cat is having this yellow discharge now. I'm quite concerned. She gotten pregnant somewhere in the middle of may I believe. It happened for the fourth time now and I thought it could be a mucus plug. She's acting normal. Eating and drinking. I can see the kittens moving. But I'm just wanna know what the discharge could mean. Any ideas?

Any vaginal discharge in a pregnant cat other than a transparent discharge is not normal. If you notice a vaginal discharge you need to visit the vet, as this may indicate that the cat has a problem which can result in an abortion. She could also have a urinary tract infection. But in any case, she should be seen by a veterinarian.

Hello. This is not normal for a pregnant cat and is concerning due to the large amount of discharge in the photo. I would be concerned that she has a uterine infection which may cause problems with the fetuses OR possibly there is a problem with the fetuses that has lead to the infection. For instance, if one or more of the fetuses has died, it can cause this. I would recommend a recheck and an ultrasound to see if the kittens are doing okay and how much fluid is in the uterus. There may be medical therapy that can help or in the worst case scenario, a c-section may be recommended.

Your kitty needs to be seen by a veterinarian preferably tonight. Yellow discharge from the vagina can point to a uterine infection which is life-threatening. The fact that her health is deteriorating also points to a severe health condition. Your cat must be seen tonight. Please take her to a petER for an exam and treatment.

Any discharge toward the end of pregnancy should have a creamy color, it should be clear or red-clear, yellow-clear, etc. Milky color could indicate infection and would necessitate a visit to the vet.
