Thank you for submitting your question regarding Sarge. I am sorry to hear about his accident. He sounds very painful based on your description. If the scrotum is swollen at all, you can apply a cool (not cold) compress to the area. Just use use a cool wash cloth as opposed to ice. Do this for 5 mins three times per day of he will allow you to do so. This can help reduce any pain and swelling in the region. If there is an emergency veterinarian near you, it would be best to have him seen as likely will require some pain medication. Do not give any over-the-counter pain medication as these can be toxic to dogs. Keep him quiet to allow rest and healing. Excessive motion will cause further swelling. Make sure he consumes water even if he will not eat. You do not want him to become dehydrated. If he cannot be seen today, then he will need to follow up with his veterinarian tomorrow. You want to ensure he has not sustain any other problems from his misstep. I hope this information helps you and Sarge!
