Can a rabies vaccine cure my cat if she's already infected?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

If I vaccinate my cat while she has rabies incubating in her body and she shows no symptoms after 1 month of vaccination, will it mean that she has grown resistance against rabies completely and the virus is dead?

Hi there. No, a rabies vaccination will not get rid of the virus in an animal that is already infected and incubating the disease. It can take several weeks to months for infected animals to show symptoms.
