My cat sniffs new litter box but won't use it. What should I do?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | 6 years and 2 months old | 16.3 lbs

So my previous question was new litter box how do I make change answer was same litter pick him up put him in box he came out which is fine he been back sniffing but has not went in or pre yet what do I do now wait ot go back to old box we put him in box and he didnt rush out but came out been sniffing but no go what u think

Well, he now knows where his litter box is and he knows what it is for. He will likely use it when he has to go. He may not have to pee or poop yet. I often change litter boxes for my cats and they have never had a problem accepting them (I have 5 cats). If you want to, you can take a bit of poop from where you just cleaned out the old box and put it into his new box. Don't panic, he will figure it out.
