Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | 11 lbs
My cat is 20 years old and is being treated from small cell lymphoma of his small intestines. The vet oncologist prescribed Chlorambucil. He had one dose and will have a CBC next week which would be 2 weeks since he took the Chlorambucil. But as of a week ago he has diarrhea which I am sure is a side effect from the Chlorambucil. The vet said to give him flagyl, but it does not seem to be working. The vet has not called back to advise me what to do. What can I give my cat to stop the diarrhea?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would get a probiotic like Purina Fortiflora. If the metronidazole isn't working I would ask for tylan and Hill's i/d to help control the diarrhea. The drug can cause GI upset seen as vomiting and diarrhea. You can discuss trying a lower dose with your Vet when they call you back. Lowering the dose will make it less effective against the lymphoma. I wish you the best!
