Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 years and 6 months old
I knowtist that my dog Chanelle seems to not like being brushed. She let's me brush her but she seems scared and nervous, her eyes get big and her ears fold back, she will start to nibble at he brush and my fingers. I don't understand why she could be scared or nervous. When I knowtist her acting this I stop. Could it be the brush? Or is she haveing flashbacks of something that has happened to her in the past before I got her? She's a rescue dog.

Not all dogs are used to brushing and it may make them nervous. You can try making it a positive experience by giving her high value treats while she is being brushed- have someone feed them to her during brushing, or put peanut butter on a spoon they can hold for her to lick off, or if you are home you can put peanut butter spread on a plate she can lick. I would also consider Adaptil spray placed on a bandana prior to grooming (available online).
