Can my 90lb Rottweiler safely use a 4% deltamethrin flea collar?

I did a little bit of digging to be sure that I'm up to date on the most recommendations for using doramectin in combination with other products. It looks as though parasitologists say that it is safe to use topical flea and tick medications or a Seresto collar during Doramectin treatment. Personally, I don't find the Vetriscience product to be very effective, so you would probably have better luck with over the counter products like topical Advantix (a "drip" treatment) or a Seresto collar. I have looked for any information about this product in pregnant dogs and cannot find any which likely means that there hasn't been any testing done. So, the answer is that we likely just don't know if this is safe for pregnant dogs. So Flumethrin is used to kill ticks, and Imidacloprid is used to kill sucking insects such as fleas. This collar is safe to use on Oscar, but like any treatment, there are potential side effects. The only flea collar that appears to work well is the Seresto collar. And even then, I can have a slower rate of kill for the fleas. The top products on the market our oral products such as some Perica and next guard. For most pets, these are good options that I recommend to call your veterinarian first and doublecheck. If you'd like to use a flea collar, I'd recommend Seresto. It's a good brand of flea collar, and while I personally do not like flea collars, it's one of the few I'd recommend. I do not like flea collars because I find them to be less effective than a spot on treatment, and they can and do cause skin irritation and rash. Flea collars with natural ingredients do not work at all, and I never recommend them. You need one with chemical ingredients to kill the fleas. If you are interested, I can give you the treatment program I always recommend. First, I would give Sam Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, such as Advantage or Revolution. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. The only decent flea collar is seresto. It is labeled for 8 months but the more you bathe them the shorter that period seems to be. So realistically you can get 5-6 months out of it. Bravecto tablets work well as it can last 3 months

Flea collars do not work very well and some are toxic if ingested. I don't recommend using them on puppies, in case it falls off and the puppy tries to eat the collar. I recommend using a monthky product, like NexGard, Frontline, Advantage, or Revolution. You will also need to treat your house with an appropriate flea product.

The Seresto collar is available for any dog under 18lbs. You will require the small dog collar. These collars last eight months and kill fleas and ticks. In my opinion, they are the best thing around for prevention. This is particularly important for your, as you are living in Reading, which has an extremely high population of lyme-infected deer ticks. If you plan on allowing your dog to be submerged in water for any length of time, you should remove the collar. If you do not, the collar is still good but will only last for five months.

The Seresto flea/tick collar is the only one on the market that is safe and effective - the others, including Adams, are often dangerously toxic for the dog and not effective at all for fleas in my experience.
