Pet's info: Dog | Australian Cattle Dog | Male | neutered | 8 years and 6 months old
My dog came in contact with a wombat that came in our yard and now a day later my dog has a bald patch on his side. Does he have mange? How should I treat it?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Tex! That would be too quick or mites to cause a bald spot. It could be hair loss from the tussle or a wound that healed. To be sure though the new oral flea and tick preventatives Nexgard, Simparica and Bravecto also get scabies. I would contact your Vet and start it. If he as mange from the Wombat it will get rid of it with out much effort on your part. Also be sure that his Rabies is up to date and consider boostering it. Have a good day!
