Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | neutered | 4 years and 6 months old | 110 lbs
We have a 4 1/2 German shepherd and an 11 1/2 GS. We would like to get a coton tzu, but don't know how the 4 1/2 will react. He is a great family dog but until he gets to know people, he is aggressive. We showed him our daughters puppy and he showed his teeth. Unfortunately, we never had him trained. If we kept the puppy in a play pen and crate, do you think the GS would get ok when th puppy? The GS is my protector.

Yes, if you are careful and keep them separated and monitor his behavior closely. Most dogs will adjust with training. Marco could become aggressive to the puppy if you are giving it too much attention and ignoring him. I also recommend neutering all of the dogs to prevent aggression. Aggression is particularly common when they reach sexual maturity as Marco has. It would be best if the puppy bonds to another household member and not you to prevent jealousy.
