My Shih Tzu missed antibiotic. Is bladder stone surgery still okay?

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | spayed | 13 lbs

To whom it may concern Hi! I forgot to give antibiotic dosage to my shih tzu leading up to her bladder stone removal surgery. I was supposed to give 62.5mg clavamox twice a day(2xs) for her UTI leading up to her bladder stone removal surgery. BUT due to huge oversight on my part, I have only given her 1 tablet a day, NOT the two prescribed. Can she still have surgery? She is a fixed female shih tzu aged 5 years weight under 15 pounds

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I don't see why she couldn't have the surgery! I would call your Vet and tell them that you have been giving less antibiotics and definitely start giving it twice daily. Personally it wouldn't cause me to delay surgery. Good luck!
