My dog has bloody, mucousy poop. Can I wait till morning to see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | 8 years and 1 month old

My pug x has been a little off his food the past few days. He is still eating, but tends to leave his dinner for a few hours before starting on it. Normally it would be eaten straight away. He has been gassy, and today he has had a lot of mucus in his poop and fresh blood. He appears fairly happy otherwise. Still excited for walks and treats ect. Drinking normally. It's 10pm here now. Will it be okay to wait until morning to get him seen?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Scrappy. He definitely needs to be seen by his veterinarian to have the stool evaluated. When blood is present, it can allow bacteria from the colon access to the blood stream. If he is still acting normal and drinking, you can likely wait until morning to have him seen. If he begins to act ill or vomits blood overnight, you will want to seek emergency care. I hope this information helps!
